Garden Wedding Bowral
Maddy & Matt exchanged vows on 17 February 2018 at Briar’s Historic Inn in Bowral, NSW in an intimate garden setting. Maddy knew exactly what she wanted and set the scene for a magical garden wedding with candle light, greenery, wooden tones and delicate pastels in the decor. She looked a dream in our Byron gown and was looked after by the wonderful ladies at Annabel’s Bridal Studio in Canberra. We asked Maddy a few questions about her big day and shopping for a bridal gown…..

Peter Trends: How did you meet your husband? Maddy: Matt was my personal trainer at Anytime Fitness Gungahlin (Canberra). We knew each other for about 8 months before we started dating.
Peter Trends: How did your partner propose to you? Maddy: We had a mini get away for my birthday at The Little National, after breakfast on my birthday we drove out into the Brindabella Mountain ranges south of Canberra. Once we found a look out to stop and go for a walk, he proposed in the mountains.

Peter Trends: What was your favourite part of your wedding day? Maddy: I can’t pick a favourite part! The whole day was absolutely perfect, weather, friends, food, bridal party, ceremony and all our vendors. Couldn’t have wished for a better day.
Peter Trends: Did you have a theme or concept for your wedding day? What was your inspiration? Maddy: I am very DIY and love organising parties and events, so knew exactly what I wanted from the moment we got engaged. I organised everything myself instead of going through a planner. I love that magical garden feel, so knew we had to incorporate candle light, greenery, wooden tones and pastels into our decorations.

Peter Trends: How did you find the experience of shopping for a wedding gown? Maddy: Really easy honestly! The day I found my gown was the first day I went shopping. Peter Trends had a trunk show at my local bridal store, it was the last dress of five that I had tried (all different styles), and it just fit perfectly. I even got some tears from my friends!
Peter Trends: What did you love about your wedding gown? Maddy: How beautiful it made me feel and how comfortable it was. I never thought I would go for this kind of style, but as soon as I tried it on, I knew it was the one for me.

Peter Trends: Any words of wisdom for future brides? Maddy: Go with your gut. At the end of the day, you’re the one who needs to be happy with everything, so don’t sacrifice anything important to you. Get a videographer!!! They’re quite pricey, but it is 100% worth it! You miss out on so much during the day and this gives you the opportunity to look back on everything.
