Tropical Wedding, Port Douglas | Laura & Indigo

Laura and Indigo planned the perfect tropical wedding with palm trees, tropical flowers and lush landscapes in Port Douglas, Australia.

Tropical Wedding

Laura and Indigo first met at the cricket in Fremantle, Western Australia. Fast forward 7 years and they celebrated their marriage in the tropical paradise of Port Douglas in Queensland. Describing the theme as “troppo madness,” Laura loved every part of her beautiful tropical wedding and shares her thoughts with us in this blog. She wore the Havana bridal gown with mocha underlay and was looked after by the experts at Bridal by Aubrey Rose in Perth.

Peter Trends Bridal: How did you meet your husband? Laura: We met in Fremantle, WA on Australia Day 2011. He was minding his own business watching the cricket… until I introduced myself at the bar.

Peter Trends Bridal: How did your husband propose to you? Laura: While hiking at the top of a hill overlooking the ocean.

Peter Trends Bridal: What was your favourite part of your wedding day? Laura: ALL of it!! The family, the music, the dancing and officially calling my best friend my husband! I really enjoyed after the ceremony when we went off with the photographer just the two of us. It gave us a minute alone to soak everything in!

Peter Trends Bridal: How did you find the experience of shopping for a wedding gown? Laura: Amazing!!! It was the best day ever! The ladies at Bridal by Aubrey Rose were incredible!

Peter Trends Bridal: What did you love about your wedding gown? Laura: The lace!! I loved the option of having a mocha colour rather than pure white. I loved that the train sat perfectly hitched up after the ceremony. The comfort factor!!!

Peter Trends Bridal: Do you have any words of wisdom for future brides? Laura: Make sure to soak up every little moment! Remember that people take photos of you from every angle! Whatever will be…will be….and it will be amazing.

Peter Trends Bridal: Is there anything special you would like to share with us about your wedding day? Laura: Every single one of our guests traveled to get to our wedding and we were so thankful. My poor mum broke her arm the night before the big day! But thanks to an incredible amount of pain killers she was still able to attend.
