They were destined to marry – Emily and Mark from Perth, Western Australia

Some call it six degrees of separation and some call it destiny but if you were just 17 years old and a guy caught your eye playing soccer, then
you found out, down the track, that your grandfather was a coach for his grandfather, plus your parents remember playing together as kids but never saw each other again until you started dating said guy, you’d say it was written in the stars!
That is the fairytale beginning to the love story of Emily and Mark who were married in Perth at the beginning of 2022.

Emily wore a customised wedding gown from our Australian wedding dress designer Rachel Rose.

Emily decided on a clean, satin version of Snow by Rachel Rose with the overskirt and train still embellished with our signature sparkle tulle.

The couple live in Western Australian so naturally Mark planned the proposal in a romantic vineyard location.
The lovers headed south of Perth to the Margaret River region and just as they began wandering amongst the vines and taking photos Mark turned to Emily and asked her to marry him!

From the idyllic atmosphere of the wineries to the slick vibe of the city, the wedding took place at the Westin Hotel in Perth. Definitely the most favourite part of Emilie’s wedding day was walking into the reception space which was beautifully decorated with soft candle light. All the hype and love in the room, husband and wife were just radiating energy and the warm wishes from all their favourite people in the world were bestowed upon them.

When we asked Emily how she found the experience of shopping for a wedding gown, she immediately told us “exciting” and “nerve racking”! She is a self confessed freind that can never figure out what to wear and always changes last minute, so she could not imagine how to could pick a dress so far in advance. However once she started envisioning what she wanted, it was really hard to top any other ideas in her head!

What Emily loved most about her wedding gown was the silhouette, having the over skirt glide behind her as she walked gave her such a special, one of a kind feeling!

As far as offering any words of wisdom for future brides? Emily advises brides to take the moment with your husband and say “we just got married!!” It’s such a surreal feeling, to really think in a short moment you went from an individual to now being someone’s everything, their wife!
