Rustic Tasmanian Wedding

Caitlin and Bradley are from Melbourne so it was a short trip across the Tasman for their Hobart wedding in February 2018. The theme was different; a mixture between rustic – boho – classy with a huge amount of warmth thrown in. You can really feel the love in this beautiful gathering of family and friends. The reception was held outdoors at Fitzroy Gardens, Hobart with rustic touches such as rows of hay bales for the guests to sit on, decorated with stunning flowers. The reception afterwards was at Willie Smiths Apple Shed in Huon Valley.

Caitlin wore a gown from the Peter Trends collection with delicate lace sleeves and was looked after by Always & Forever Bridal in Melbourne. We asked her a few questions about her wedding day….

Peter Trends Bridal: How did you meet your husband? Caitlin: At highshool, Year 7, 12 years old. We were put in the same class.

Peter Trends Bridal: How did your partner propose to you? Caitlin: We were traveling…road tripping up to Queensland, Australia. We stopped on the way at Yamba and hiked at the Dorrigo National Park, but not to the end. Under the waterfall he got down on one knee.

Peter Trends Bridal: What was your favourite part of your wedding day? Caitlin: Between getting ready with my ladies, to seeing my dad for the first time as a bride, to our dances, to our emotional ceremony, the speeches and just holding my hubby’s hand as his wife.

Peter Trends Bridal: Did you have a theme or concept for your wedding day? What was your inspiration? Caitlin: Our theme was different. A mixture between rustic-boho-classy with a huge amount of warmth.

Peter Trends Bridal: How did you find the experience of shopping for a wedding gown? Caitlin: I went to four places in total; two were horrible experiences, one okay, but didn’t have my style and lastly, one incredible experience, who I can’t stop recommending (Always & Forever Bridal, Melbourne).

Peter Trends Bridal: What did you love about your wedding gown? Caitlin: The fit, it was like it was made for me. The simplicity, yet the beautiful detail. The way it sat around my shoulders, chest and back. It was just so elegant and classy. I love it!

Peter Trends Bridal: Is there anything special you would like to share with us about your wedding day? Caitlin: We had the time of our lives. Love was contagious. We invested the time and wanted to honour our family. Our grandparents were a huge part of our day and the people not with us anymore were always remembered too.

Peter Trends Bridal: Do you have any words of wisdom for future brides? Caitlin: Give yourself enough time to plan, to keep it stress free on the day. Have at least 5-10 minutes just with hubby on the day to take it all in. Be as organised as you can be, prepare and plan and make sure everyone knows their roles on the day, without questions.
