Jaspers Berry Wedding – Anneliese & Lachlan
The love story of two track and field athletes, Anneliese and Lachlan, who met during training and attended the University of Sydney together. They were married on 3rd Nov 2018 at a beautiful and luxurious wedding venue:Â Jaspers Berry. Anneliese looked stunning in a bespoke bridal gown from our head office in Roseville, Sydney.
We spoke to Anneliese about her wedding day and bridal shopping experience.
Peter Trends Bridal: How did you meet your husband? Anneliese: As we are both track & field athletes, we met at training when I joined Lachlan’s training group. We then went to Sydney University together.
Peter Trends Bridal: How did your partner propose to you? Anneliese: I was going to be overseas for my birthday, so Lach decided to celebrate my birthday early. He woke me up bright & early to open presents, then head to coffee & breakfast at Rose Bay. He then surprised me with a seaplane trip over Sydney Harbour and to the Northern Beaches where we both grew up. We walked up to the Palm Beach lighthouse and he proposed overlooking the headland. The final surprise was a seafood & champagne lunch at the Boathouse awaiting us with both of our parents. The most perfect day !!
Peter Trends Bridal: What was your favorite part of your wedding day? Anneliese: The whole day was just perfect but a few moments stand out! Pulling up to the venue, and seeing it for the first time… it was absolutely as I’d envisioned! Walking with my dad toward the love of my life and seeing the look on his face is something I’ll never forget. Our speeches were the perfect mixture of heartfelt & hilarious, and of course, dancing the night away with my new husband, to our amazing band!
Peter Trends Bridal: Did you have a theme or concept for your wedding day? What was your inspiration? Anneliese: I have been obsessed with weddings ever since I was a little girl so I knew exactly the look & feel I was after. The main inspiration was our beautiful venue, Jaspers. As soon as we walked into the property my mind was going a million miles an hour imagining all the things we could do. I really wanted the fairytale/whimsical feel, with a bit of a modern twist.
Peter Trends Bridal: How did you find the experience of shopping for a wedding gown? Anneliese: So much fun, I wish I could go wedding dress shopping all the time! It was quite easy to narrow the style and materials I loved down to a small few, I’d always wanted a fuller skirt with a modern princess look. But then actually choosing the dress was quite difficult. That’s why I was so happy when the ladies at Peter Trends told me I could create a bespoke dress from their range. It was just perfect!
Peter Trends Bridal: What I loved about my wedding gown… Anneliese: I absolutely adore the skirt of my wedding gown. It just flows so beautifully, and you can really see it’s movements in our photos, I had so much fun wearing it all night (could not stop twirling!). The lace in the bodice is stunning as well, it is so intricate with beautiful pearl beading and floral motifs, really made me feel like a princess. I also loved how comfortable it was! It was so light & very easy to dance in!.
Peter Trends Bridal: Do you have any words of wisdom for future brides? Anneliese: Keep the speeches short & sweet, and the dancing long!!!
Peter Trends Bridal: Is there anything special you would like to share with us about your wedding day? Anneliese: Lach’s cousin was our celebrant, she was absolutely amazing in writing the ceremony so personal to us. It was so special to have someone so close to us officiate the day, and meant a lot that she could be involved! The ceremony was beautiful, we were able to keep elements of tradition, yet also bring our own personal touch to the words we spoke.
