Hunter Valley Wedding Day

Telaine and Stuart put together a gorgeous and individual wedding with lots of personal hand-made touches! Their ceremony and reception were held at Pokolbin Hall in the Hunter Valley, NSW. Telaine chose our Byron bridal gown and was looked after by Newcastle Bridal House. With a lace bodice and soft, full skirt, Telaine looks breathtaking amidst the countryside of the picturesque Hunter Valley. Here we asked her a few questions about shopping for a wedding dress and her special day.

Hunter Valley Wedding Day

Peter Trends Bridal: How did you meet your husband? Telaine: Initially through his brother and mutual friends, then we found ourselves together at Monkerai BNS Ball, from this day, we have been inseparable and the rest is history!

Peter Trends Bridal: How did your partner propose to you? Telaine: In April 2017, we went to Hawaii with Stu’s brother and partner. On day 3, at Kualoa ranch (after getting wet and muddy riding quad bikes) he dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him, with a ring he designed with my best friend.

Peter Trends Bridal: What was your favourite part of your wedding day? Telaine: I have two, when our celebrant announced we were husband and wife and having our first ‘alone time’ driving away from the ceremony in the mustang. I just wanted to spend every minute of that day with him.

Peter Trends Bridal: Did you have a theme or concept for your wedding day? What was your inspiration? Telaine: I wanted our wedding to be individual. I put personal photos and items all around. I love rustic items, mixed with traditional flair. Making the day unique was important to us. Stu is so talented and built our arbour, seats, bar, display tables, dance floor and bridal backdrop. I spent months creating displays, painting jars and filling photo frames. It was so worth it. It was definitely ‘our’ special day.

Peter Trends Bridal: How did you find the experience of shopping for a wedding gown? Telaine: I was nervous but Julie put me at ease every step of the way. She continually offered me options and held my hand when I would get overwhelmed. I loved having both my mum and mother-in-law with me. Their opinion was very important to me.

Peter Trends Bridal: What did you love about your wedding dress? Telaine: Everything! The bodice! How detailed and elegant it was. The way the skirt moved was mesmerising. I received endless compliments from my guests and couldn’t be happier with the gown. Thank you for making my dreams come true!

Peter Trends Bridal: Do you have any words of wisdom for future brides? Telaine: On the day you can’t change anything! So remember what the day is about and focus on your groom. It truly is something magical to showcase your love to the world! Enjoy every second.

Peter Trends Bridal: Is there anything special you would like to share with us about your wedding day? Telaine: Our wedding was a complete team effort. What began as an empty hall, was transformed into the most amazing space! Thank you to everybody involved!
