Hayley & Rory’s boho inspired country wedding south of Perth

Hayley and Rory bask in the love of their big day at their country wedding at Baldivis

This beautiful bride & groom celebrated their special day with an intimate country wedding in Baldivis, south of Perth, WA. Surrounded by nearest and dearest, their wedding was inspired by the beauty of simplicity and natural colours. The charming rustic barn wedding was captivated by the sunset that melts over the horizon.

Stunning bride Hayley looked radiant in the soft tulle and sparkly California low back wedding dress from the Emanuella Collection by the Australian wedding dress designer duo Monique & Paulein at Peter Trends Bridal.

This dreamy gown has a sparkling beaded bodice with floaty tulle and organza full skirt. The bodice has an illusion finish and the back a gorgeous plunge. California is a low back wedding dress that is designed for that breezy and playful kind of vibe. Exquisite hand beaded detail and illusion give this Australian designed wedding dress a starry night kind of magic. Hayley added on a personal touch with a cool black bridal jacket.

We asked Hayley a few questions about her day and experience.

1. How did you meet your partner and how did they propose to you?

Rory and I met on Tinder haha. We matched in September if 2018 and went on our first date 12/10/2018. After dating for a few months we became an official couple in March 2019. Our daughter Ayla was born on 20/08/2020. We spent New Years of 2020/2021 in Jurien Bay with friends. On 02/01/2021 we went for a drive on a secluded beach with Ayla. Ayla was sleeping in the car so we parked up on the beach to go and put our feet in the water. After being in the water for a bit I turned around and Rory was just on one knee and popped the question. We were the only ones on the beach and it was just a perfect proposal for me.

2. What was your favourite part of your wedding day?

I loved when we had our first dance. The band played our song “dancing in the moonlight” and after we finished our choreographed part all our friends and family ran onto the dance floor and started dancing with us. It was just so fun and such a memorable moment for us. But my favourite part of the day was when Rory and I went off for our sunset couples shoot. It was the only part of the day where it was just us, and we got to spend a little bit of time with just the two of us and basque in the love of the day

3. Did you have a theme or concept for your wedding day?

What was your inspiration? The concept was a little bit boho with neutral colours. I had Barefoot & Boho do the styling for the event. We didn’t know what it was going to look like until the day of the wedding and honestly, I could not have asked for a more beautiful set up. It was exactly what I wanted.

4. How did you find the experience of shopping for a wedding gown?

When I first went shopping for a gown I was a bit nervous as I was still carrying some extra weight from my pregnancy so I was feeling a bit self-conscious and I was worried nothing would fit me. I went to Bridal by Aubrey Rose and the experience was just so awesome. All the girls there were so nice and made me feel so comfortable. I went there to try on a specific dress but ended up walking out of there with a completely different style than I thought I would. Once I tried on the California gown my mum, sisters and I just knew it was the one! It was just so pretty and flattering to my figure. I also loved the sparkles and the layer of nude tulle.

We wish the newly wed Mr & Mrs Burgess much love and happiness for the future – and thank you for sharing your day with us.
