Garden Wedding Adelaide Hills

Charlie-Ann and Michael were married in Autumn at Al Ru Farm in the Adelaide Hills. They wanted to make the most of the countryside and the gardens at Al Ru are just magical. Charlie wore the Dominica May gown from our Emanuella collection and was looked after by the wonderful ladies at Jenny & Gerry’s Bridal Centre in Adelaide. Here she shares a few thoughts about her wedding day and bridal gown.

eter Trends Bridal: How did you meet your husband? Charlie-Ann: We met through a mutual friend 8 years ago. They were neighbours for quite awhile.

Peter Trends Bridal: How did your husband propose to you? Charlie-Ann: We took a 4WD trip to Uluru and he proposed at the Olgas.

Peter Trends Bridal: What was your favourite part of your wedding day? Charlie-Ann: I can not pick it! I was so happy with everything. Although our first look moment before the ceremony was very special. We got to spend some time together before all the shenanigans.

Peter Trends Bridal: Did you have a theme or concept for your wedding day? What was your inspiration? Charlie-Ann: Not really, I wanted the venue to take control of that! The gardens at Al Ru Farm are just magical. We both do love the countryside so there is a bit of that in there.

Peter Trends Bridal: How did you find the experience of shopping for a wedding gown? Charlie-Ann: Such a breeze! This dress was the third or fourth one I tried on and I didn’t order it straight away but couldn’t stop thinking about it for weeks. That’s when I knew it was the one.

Peter Trends Bridal: What did you love about your wedding gown? Charlie-Ann: I love how dreamy it is! When I look at it in pictures it looks so elegant and…well…dreamy. The bodice is to die for with so much detail but not over the top.

Peter Trends Bridal: Do you have any words of wisdom for future brides? Charlie-Ann: Keep it simple! When organising accessories etc it meant less things for me to worry about and I could spend more $ on the things that I thought had more value to my wedding….like this gorgeous dress!

Peter Trends Bridal: Is there anything special you would like to share with us about your wedding day? Charlie-Ann: Without realising we chose our wedding date the same day as Michael’s Nan and Pop’s wedding anniversary! So as a sweet gesture we offered them and my grandparents (cause they just celebrated 50 years) an embroidered handkerchief during our ceremony. There wasn’t a dry eye in the garden.
