Karis and Cameron’s Fremantle wedding had a relaxed, casual vibe, perfectly matched to the location!

Karis and Cameron had been together for 10 years before tying the knot at their wedding in Fremantle, Western Australia. The ceremony was at the Roundhouse and the reception afterwards was at Little Creatures Brewery. Karis found her dream gown in our ‘Havana‘ style from Bridal by Aubrey Rose in Perth. We asked her a few questions about her wedding day….

Peter Trends Bridal: How did you meet your husband? Karis: 10 years ago at a friend’s house party, we instantly hit it off!

Peter Trends Bridal: How did your husband propose to you? Karis: It was on the 29th December, we were camping post Christmas, totally unexpected! It was on Smiths Beach (Yallingup) with a cute sunset picnic with amazing Margaret River Wine.

Peter Trends Bridal: How did you find the experience of shopping for a wedding gown? Karis: I went into shopping for my dress very open as I didn’t want to be disappointed easily! My dress (the Havana) was actually chosen by one of the lovely girls at BBAR. Initially I wasn’t sure it’d be me but tried it anyway, next thing you know I was ordering it.

Peter Trends Bridal: What did you love about your wedding gown? Karis: It was so different to something I would usually pick but it just made me feel so comfortable and beautiful, which was very important to me!

Peter Trends Bridal: Did you have a theme or concept for your wedding day? What was your inspiration? Karis: No real theme! We were after a relaxed/casual vibe, if anything it was very Fremantle (which if you’ve ever been there, you would understand).

Peter Trends Bridal: What was your favourite part of your wedding day? Karis: The dancefloor! So much fun partying and dancing the night away with all our loved ones!

Peter Trends Bridal: Is there anything special you would like to share with us about your wedding day? Karis: This is so hard as everything was so special. Just take it all in as it’s honestly the best day of your life.

Peter Trends Bridal: Do you have any words of wisdom for future brides? Karis: Prepare for the worst but hope for the best. This sounds odd but was honestly the way my husband and I prepared for the big day! On the day we both felt calm (as if “what’s the worst that could happen?”) but got a flawless day in the end!
