Who is the Emanuella and Diva Curves bride?

“She is free-spirited, well travelled, curious, cool and wants to appear effortless in her approach to being a bride.  She doesn’t want fuss and drama; she wants simplicity, ease and cool factor.

What are some of your favourite features from the collection? Can you tell us more about the fabrics and design elements?

“It was really important to us to utilise beautiful, high quality fabrics for our gowns ; we are noticing more and more destination weddings where comfort is important.  Our brides want to wear their gown effortlessly all day and enjoy her surroundings at the same time.  There has been a great reaction  to our stretch jersey and crepe fabric which feels so soft on the skin and moves with ease.

Floaty, flowing fabrics such as chiffon and georgette also feature heavily in our skirts, giving a soft sensual femininity but still maneuverable so you can feel confident on the day.

We offer our brides options to create their own bridal looks by customising their gown with leg splits, longer trains, adding draped off the shoulder sleeves etc.

Both our Emanuella and Diva collections service the bride with reliable gown structure, different colour options and a unique variety of laces that are the hallmarks of a good design. We offer her a level of customisation, to create a her own unique fashion forward style.  If she needs a special measurement in the bust, waist of hips or a lower back, higher front, longer train; they are all changes that can be accommodated to create the perfect gown.

How would you describe the silhouettes for this season’s gowns?

“The silhouettes can usually fall into these categories:

Boho Chic , Classic, or Modern and Sassy.

The Boho Chic bride wants to run in the sand barefoot, dance with abandon and wear her hair down. Our Bahamas and Malibu both have a strong feminine presence reflected in their lace detailing however could easily be set free in the forest, by the ocean or in a vineyard.  Similarly, the Diva collection offers Dakota, Devi and Dove for the curvy boho bride with soft flowy skirts and lace embroidered bodices accented with light straps or off the shoulder lace sleeves.

The Classic bride loves lace and a pinched in waist.  She will adore her train and accessorise with a long romantic veil.  The Kauai is a perfect example of the classic bridal gown with it’s hour glass shape, optional bustle and delicate lace bolero. The bolero can have a boat neckline and low back or V neckline and classic button up back.  The Bondi gown has a classic small waist and floaty tulle overskirt with fitted lace sheath underlay.  The Donatella and Deja gowns from the Diva collection have a classic fit and flare lace shape and a deep V neckline which lengthens the body while flattering the bust line.

The Modern bride loves clean lines, simple fabrics with perhaps a hint of lace.  She likes gowns with a modern cut or an unexpected twist.  The Barbados features contoured lace detail on a unique honey comb lace underlay which is very 21st century.  The detachable chiffon cowl is a cool accessory to add detail to the arm and back of the gown. The Sassy bride will revel in a skirt with a long split or plunging neckline.  She might have a bare back down to her lower waist or a sheer bodice. The Rococo has a cool halter neck and lower back that makes a statement.

Our goal was to create something for every kind of bride, and offer options for brides with design elements to suit their body and their personality.
