Country Weddings

Sarah and Matthew were married on 10th February 2018 at the stunning Valley View Manor in country Victoria. Country Weddings offer the most serene location and spectacular scenery and this unique property in Toongabbie lived up to the dream. Sarah chose to wear our Dominica bridal gown from the Emanuella collection with a gorgeous sweetheart neckline and ornate lace scalloping throughout the gown. Sarah was looked after by the beautiful ladies at Bendigo Bridal and had a special connection with the store through her best friend. We asked Sarah a few questions about her wedding day and choosing a gown.

Peter Trends: How did you meet your husband? Sarah: We went to primary school together and he left to go to another school. We then started our first job together at Coles as checkout chicks and fell head over heels in love.

Peter Trends: How did your partner propose to you? Sarah: We were on holidays at the Gold Coast and went to see the views at the Q1 Skydeck. He hugged me and got down on one knee.

Peter Trends: Did you have a theme or concept for your wedding? What was your inspiration? Sarah: I wanted a simple and elegant wedding. I just researched ideas off pinterest.

Peter Trends: How did you find the experience of shopping for a wedding gown? Sarah: It was easy! My best friend worked at her aunty’s bridal shop (Bendigo Bridal) and we were mucking around, trying on dresses. I tried this dress on and loved it. I picked the dress before having a date set.

Peter Trends: What did you love about your wedding gown? Sarah: It suited my body shape beautifully and it was unique, with the mocha undertone and ivory lace.

Peter Trends: What was your favourite part of your wedding day? Sarah: My best friend’s mum organised our family friends from Fiji to be “special guests” and they performed a traditional Fijian fire dance.

Peter Trends: Is there anything special you would like to share with us about your wedding day? Sarah: It was one of the most amazing days of our lives and we were lucky to have our friends and family.

Peter Trends: Do you have any words of wisdom for future brides? Sarah: Keep it simple. Lots of people put a lot of pressure on themselves. At the end of it, it’s a wedding! Everyone will have fun no matter what.
