Ben Ean Wedding – Fiona & Jonathan

Jonathan and Fiona met at their workplace and their friendship flourished instantly. They were married on the 19th of October 2018, under the canopy of the old fig tree at Ben Ean Estate in the Hunter Valley. Fiona looked gorgeous in our Ecuador Wedding Gown from the Emanuella collection, selected from our head office bridal studio in Roseville.

We spoke to Fiona about her wedding day and bridal shopping experience.

Peter Trends Bridal: How did you meet your husband? Fiona: I met him at work whilst we were still studying. Our friendship flourished instantly with his witty humour and genuine nature. Our bond only grew stronger from that moment on.

Peter Trends Bridal: How did your partner propose to you? Fiona: He took me on a surprise trip to Singapore and proposed to me on the top of Marina Bay Sands.

Peter Trends Bridal: What was your favourite part of your wedding day? Fiona: Saying our vows – making that personal commitment to one another with our own words. And of course, the dancing at the end of the night with family and friends.

Peter Trends Bridal: Did you have a theme or concept for your wedding day? What was your inspiration? Fiona: Floral theme with an accent colour of red. I always imagined the wedding with a pop of colour and Peonies Boutique Weddings really tied all my ideas together. Keep it fun, yet elegant!

Peter Trends Bridal: How did you find the experience of shopping for a wedding gown? Fiona: Extremely easy – Gabriele’s guidance, advice, and patience really calmed my nerves (Gabriele is a treasured bridal stylist at the Peter Trends head office bridal studio in Roseville, Sydney).

Peter Trends Bridal: What did you love about your wedding gown? Fiona: The detailing of the lace and the back. I always dreamt of a backless gown, and I knew instantly that this would be THE dress. It was also really light and loved that I could still breathe in it!

Peter Trends Bridal: Do you have any words of wisdom for future brides? Fiona: Amongst all the planning and stress, remember to take a step back from it all and really enjoy the journey you and your partner are taking. You won’t get another chance like it! (At least, I hope not)

Peter Trends Bridal: Is there anything special you would like to share with us about your wedding day? Fiona: We were extremely lucky on the day. It was storming the day before and after our wedding day, and we had the perfect view of the Hunter.
