An Elopement with the most intimate of celebrations | Tara and Zach

Tara and Zach eloped this October and created the most adorable micro wedding we have ever had the pleasure to be part of. The location nestled deep within the age old eucalyptus trees of Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, was Tanglewood Estate, a gorgeous secret garden and vineyard, set on more than 100 acres of bushland. The amazing glimpses into this intimately special day were captured by Be Here Be Now Photos and Films.

How did the two of you meet?
At a night club!  A mutual friend set us up and we just clicked.  A few weeks later we went overseas together and we both new we were on to something pretty special.

How did Zach propose to you?
It was Christmas eve, surrounded by fairy lights, lots of wine, music and flowers in our backyard.  Very low key but very romantic.

What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
Seeing Zach for the first time as my mum “walked me down the isle” (through the grass). He just looked so happy and excited and I had the biggest smile from that point on.

Did you have a theme or concept for your wedding day?  What was your inspiration?
We had no idea that our wedding was even going to go ahead until a few weeks before hand!  So we honestly just organised things like food, ceremony and location based on things we loved.

The designers of the Emanuella Collection, Monique and Paulein met you during a trunk show event in Victoria.  How did you find the whole experience of shopping for a wedding dress?
Easier than I expected! I couldn’t decide between the bodice and skirt of 2 different styles. As soon as the team from Peter Trends Bridal said they could customise my gown, my decision was so easy!

What do you love about your wedding gown?
I felt confident and comfortable the whole day.  I chose a gown that complimented my body.  The lace  detailing under the leg split was just so gorgeous and the split made it easy to walk.

Do you have any words of wisdom for future brides?
Don’t include things just because that’s what other people do.  Don’t want speeches?  Don’t have them.  There are no rules so just make sure the day us full of things that make you and your partner happy!

Is there anything special you would like to share with us about your wedding day?
I’m so glad that we did not postpone our day.  I always thought I wanted 120 guests with the whole big reception, but looking back our intimate day was so perfect.  I wouldn’t have changed a thing.
