Alison & Pete’s enchanting garden wedding in the Blue Mountains

A charming garden ceremony for Pete and his beautiful bride Alison, who chose the Dove gown from The Peter Trends Bridal Diva Curves Collection, with a customised tulle overskirt for a soft, personalised look. We love the off the shoulder lace sleeves and pop of yellow colour from the sunflowers.

The wedding reception and enchanting garden ceremony were held at Loxley on Bellbird Hill, situated at the gateway of the Blue Mountains in the beautiful Hawkesbury Valley, an hour northwest of Sydney. Loxley’s established gardens with peaceful ponds, water lilies, mature trees and expansive views, provide an ideal setting. Brimming with history and surrounded by natural beauty, it was the perfect venue for this bride & groom.

Alison & Pete initially met at work, only to lose contact and meet again at a different workplace a few years later. That was it, from then on there was no looking back and they have been best friends ever since. They both share a wonderful quirkiness and sense of humour they call ‘Mutual weirdness forever’.

The day Pete proposed, Alison had taken him out on a date to one of their favourite restaurants in the mountains, and on the way home they stopped at Mount Blackheath to take in the view. Pete wrapped his arms around Alison from behind and surprised her by holding out his hand with a ring in the palm of his hand, asking her to marry him. A romantic proposal with the most stunning view over the Sydney basin.

Alison says that her favourite part of the wedding day was being surrounded by her closest friends as she married her best friend. It was an intimate affair with some of the most incredible people they know there to share the day and celebrating with them. The day was relaxed, and an incredible amount of fun.

Alison explains that the theme for the wedding was rustic with a touch of ‘us’, They had handmade decorations that matched in with the venue decor. Inspiration was drawn from things they enjoy together. As Alison puts it; If we were to put a theme on it, it would be ‘Mutual weirdness forever’.

We asked Alison how she found the experience of dress shopping:

“Shopping for my gown was such a wonderful experience, Peter Trends Bridal Sydney studio was the first dress store I had been to, and the last. It had a beautiful range of gowns, and I was made to feel comfortable, and beautiful on my journey to finding ‘the dress’. Kajsa was absolutely amazing and was able to help me find my dress on the first visit. I couldn’t recommend Peter Trends highly enough!”

A unique guipure lace bodice with off the shoulder lace sleeves, sets off the Dove gown from Diva Curves Collection as the perfect boho beauty. The skirt is a soft a-line style, and Alison added a bespoke tulle overskirt for extra flow and softness. This Australian designed wedding dress is the creation of sister duo Monique and Paulein, designers and owners of Peter Trends Bridal, Sydney.
