A rustic barn wedding with a spectacular view for Mille & Edward

Mille & Edward found the perfect setting for their wedding at The Barn with expansive views of Seven Mile Beach surrounded by rolling hills, stunning vistas and secluded rainforest at Foxground.

This wedding venue is a beautiful blend of rustic character and contemporary features which come together to create a warm and inviting space. The bride & groom organised everything themselves to create the venue of their dream. The Barn features hand milled hardwood finishings harvested from the property as well as second hand corrugated iron rescued from an aging rural property, which much appealed to them but most of all they loved the fabulous view from up there.

We asked the bride a few questions:

Mille, how did you meet your husband? Dating app called ‘Happen’

How did your partner propose to you? He planned a romantic trip down the South Coast. We had a long lunch at Cupitt’s Winery and then he proposed on Bannister’s headland whilst we sat watching the whales at sunset.

What was your favourite part of your wedding day? That’s such a hard question, I loved all of it!

Did you have a theme or concept for your wedding day and what was your inspiration?

Our wedding was very DIY. The Barn is set on a private property in Foxground and there is literally nothing else up there so we had to bring in everything including a marquee, furniture, caterer, bar and bathrooms. The view from the property is stunning so everything was focused around that.

How did you find the experience of shopping for a wedding gown? I loved it! I felt like a princess. I only visited 3 stores in total. Peter Trends was the second store I visited and all the gowns there were just so beautiful. I loved that we were the only ones there, it made the experience even more special.

What did you love about your wedding gown? Everything! The materials were beautiful and the layers were detailed. I loved the champagne undertone and the subtle sparkle in the fabric.

Mille wore a Peter Trends Luxe lace sheath wedding dress with illusion bodice and a deep v. Chic and contemporary, this unique low back fit-and-flare wedding dress appealed to her boho heart, while giving her effortless style. The intricate beaded lace is placed over a second layer of sparkle tulle for maximum impact. The extended lace train makes a beautiful statement from the back on this Australian designed wedding dress.

Do you have any words of wisdom for future brides?

Just enjoy the process. It all goes by so quickly.
