A country wedding festival for Courtney and Conan.

Mr & Mrs Watts created their own wedding festival with music, dancing, great food and warm country hospitality – #Wattsstock!

Country music, a Big Top circus marquee, glamping tents and a slow cooker on the back of an old truck were all part of Courtney and Conan’s big day. This music loving couple got the idea and theme for their wedding whilst attending the Fairgrounds music festival in Berry, on the New South Wales South Coast. They saw ‘Get in the Q’ and loved the amazing slow cooker and decided there and then that they wanted a wedding with a country music festival vibe.

The ceremony and reception were held at their farm ‘Briar Bank” in Pyree, a small farming town south of Sydney. The favourite part of the wedding for the bride was the wedding ceremony. She says it was incredibly special as they were able to create a party atmosphere right from the outset. They were laughing and joyous the whole time during the ceremony and the guests really were interactive too. As there was a huge storm coming their way – there was a wild atmosphere in the air.

We asked the bride how she found the experience of shopping for a wedding gown.
“I had been on the IVF merry go round for a number of years and had lost my shape due to all the hormone medication and treatments I’d been on. As such, I wasn’t feeling my best when I was trying on gowns. I was nervous and worried that I wouldn’t be able to fit into anything as my previous experiences at other stores with sample sizes of size 8 had left me anxious. My experience at Peter Trends Bridal head office studio was the opposite and I was treated beautifully from the moment I stepped foot inside the boutique. I was able to try on many gowns in my size and I felt beautiful in the one that I chose. Kajsa was a calming, encouraging presence and she make me feel so at ease. The whole experience was amazing and luxurious.
What I loved most about my wedding gown was the quality of the fabric, colour and rose pattern lace. However, the highlight of the dress was the sleeves. They really elevated the gown and everyone commented on how stunning they were.”

Courtney wore a bespoke version of the Georgia wedding dress from our Emanuella Collection, and she created her own touch with the addition of some lace and tulle bell sleeves. This vintage lace gown is perfect for the classic bride who wants a little bit more, with a fitted corset style bodice and a full soft tulle skirt. This Australian designed wedding dress has a semi-sheer bodice to show off the corsetry and lace for a modern twist.

We asked Courtney if she has any words of wisdom for future brides?
“Be in the moment and don’t let things worry or spoil your day. We were in the eye of the storm on our wedding day, and we had no control over the weather. The wild storm just added to the atmosphere, and we all had a wonderful time. People are there to celebrate you and if something doesn’t go to plan, don’t worry as your friends and family will adapt and enjoy the day. It also goes very quickly so have little moments throughout the night where you stop and look around at how special it all is. My husband and I would check in with one another throughout the night and take it all in.”
